چکیده

Abstract Background Despite being a controversial subject, multiple guidelines mention the use of Coronary Artery Calcification (CAC) scoring in cardiovascular risk prediction asymptomatic population. Adding CAC score to European SCORE (Systematic Risk Evaluation) may improve MACE (Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events), providing better stratification. Purpose Our study aims evaluate impact severity compared with and estimate additional value stratification low- region Methods results The consisted prospective registry 1110 individuals free known coronary heart disease, enrolled from GENEMACOR referred for computed tomography assessment. mean age was 51.6±8.2 years, 74.1% were male. This population followed 5.2±3.3 years primary endpoint all-cause events. extent differs significantly between men women same group. Therefore, distribution by gender done using Hoff's nomogram (a). According this nomogram, 3 categories created: low (0≤CAC<100 P<50); moderate (100≤CAC<400 or P50–75) high (CAC≥400 P>75). Through Cox regression occurrence, does not remain equation, higher level presented significant occurrence an HR 7.943 (95% CI 2.948 – 21.401; p<0.0001). Using C-index, superior (0.729 vs 0.615; increased alone (AUC 0.77 p=0.003). Conclusion point importance inclusion prevention clinical practice could have prognostic on prediction. Larger multicenter cohorts longer follow-up should reproduce validate these findings. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None. Table 1

Does C-reactive Protein Add Prognostic Value to GRACE Score in Acute Coronary Syndromes?

BACKGROUND The incremental prognostic value of plasma levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) in relation to GRACE score has not been established in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) with non-ST segment elevation. OBJECTIVE To test the hypothesis that CRP measurements at admission increases the prognostic value of GRACE score in patients with ACS. METHODS A total of 290 subjects, conse...

Coronary artery calcium score combined with Framingham score for risk prediction in asymptomatic individuals.

CONTEXT Guidelines advise that all adults undergo coronary heart disease (CHD) risk assessment to guide preventive treatment intensity. Although the Framingham Risk Score (FRS) is often recommended for this, it has been suggested that risk assessment may be improved by additional tests such as coronary artery calcium scoring (CACS). OBJECTIVES To determine whether CACS assessment combined wit...

Prognostic value of calcium score and coronary flow velocity reserve in asymptomatic diabetic patients

BACKGROUND The risk stratification of patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major objective for the clinicians, and it can be achieved by coronary flow velocity reserve (CFVR) or with coronary artery calcium score (CS). CS evaluates underlying coronary atherosclerotic plaque burden and CFVR estimates both presence of coronary artery stenosis and microvascular function. Consequently, CFVR ma...

Coronary artery calcium (CAC) score – a prognostic tool in coronary artery disease?

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of measurement of coronary artery calcification score (CAC) in patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) and a normal myocardial perfusion scan. Methods: In a prospective study we measured the calcium score of 74 patients (29 m, 45 f, mean age 58.7 (m) and 64.4 (f)) with suspicion of CAD and a normal perfusion scan. In ...

Combined Framingham Risk Score and Coronary Artery Calcium Score Predict Subclinical Coronary Plaque Assessed by Coronary Computed Tomography Angiogram in Asymptomatic Taiwanese Population.

BACKGROUND We sought to determine the predictive value of the combined traditional Framingham risk score (FRS) and coronary artery calcium score (CACS) for subclinical coronary plaque detected by computed tomography coronary angiogram (CTCA) in asymptomatic subjects. METHOD We evaluated 167 asymptomatic Taiwanese subjects (mean age, 57 ± 11.2 years), who underwent CTCA as part of a health eva...
